The Collaborative on Postsecondary Education and Disability (CPED) is committed to promoting equal postsecondary educational opportunity for adolescents and adults with disabilities. Our mission is to enhance support services to secondary and postsecondary students with disabilities. At the secondary level, our efforts focus on college and career readiness as well as transition to postsecondary education for students with disabilities. At the postsecondary level, our efforts focus on quality supports for current college students with disabilities to positively affect retention and degree completion. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure students with disabilities matriculate through secondary and postsecondary school and smoothly transition into adulthood. Our primary emphases are research and training to build the capacity of professionals and to enhance the field of postsecondary and secondary education and disability. Particular areas of focus are secondary transition, college and career readiness, and the use of Universal Design for Instruction.
